Saelion / project paper 01

A place for
small worlds.

01. The idea

Saelion is a growing creative collection of playable worlds, illustrated stories, art, and small interactive studies. The shared idea is simple: a digital place can make room for curiosity, beauty, and a gentle pace.

The public website brings those experiences together. It provides a clear introduction, a featured place to begin, and a directory for people who would rather choose their own route. Each experience keeps its own identity and controls.

02. What you can explore today

The current collection spans several forms. These are published entry points; their descriptions explain what a visitor is opening.

The story readers identify the current texts as original drafts awaiting canon review. Ways also labels collections hosted on other public sites, so a visitor can see when a link leads elsewhere.

03. A clear way through

The homepage introduces the project. The showcase presents the published Bunny game with an explicit Play control and an option to open its own page. Ways is the complete public directory.

Ways app offers a home-screen entry where browser installation is supported. Its small offline notice helps when a connection is lost. Games, stories, and artwork still need a connection; installation does not make the entire collection available offline.

04. Saved visits belong to their experience

There is no shared public account or cross-device save system in this collection. Experiences that save progress or preferences keep them in their own browser storage. The Bunny showcase loads the existing game on the same site, preserving that game’s save location.

Opening a different browser, changing devices, using a private session, or clearing browser data can leave you without previous progress. Ways does not copy or clear game saves. The Cobalt Gray study starts fresh when reopened.

Daylight and Night preferences are shared by the homepage, showcase, Ways, and project paper. The two Saelion story readers follow that preference unless you choose a separate reader appearance.

05. Access, comfort, and choice

Public entry pages are readable without an account. Navigation uses ordinary links, visible keyboard focus, and touch-friendly controls. The homepage respects reduced-motion preferences and remains useful when JavaScript is unavailable. Individual games have their own requirements; Bunny requires JavaScript and WebGL 2.

The homepage and showcase add no recording, microphone access, or upload tracking. A game starts only after a visitor chooses it. The showcase’s Close game control removes the embedded game from the page.

Read-aloud in the story readers is optional and uses browser voices; some voices may use an online service. The Room Hears is a separate, explicitly opened experience with its own controls and explanation. Public pages do not expose private conversations, personal archives, or owner tools.

06. What is still in preparation

Saelion Field offers seven chapters, a gallery, cast, seasons and bundled worlds. It supports guest play and browser-local progress. Installation is browser-dependent; its offline notice and icons are available offline, while the interactive field needs a connection. Other unreleased concepts remain labelled in the public directory without launch links.

The approach is incremental: keep published experiences usable, retain their identities and saved progress, and introduce new work when its public source and behavior have been reviewed. This paper describes the current public edition; it will evolve as that edition grows.
